CALLE 13
Los de Atrás Vienen Conmigo
(Sony International)
Puerto Rico's five-time Grammy and Latin Grammy award-winning veterans segue from straightforward hip-hop to an alternative reggaetón that incorporates everything from rock steady to cumbia. It's ballsy to the point of requiring a parental advisory, but nonetheless thoughtful in the way it busts out ironic chants and ragamuffin rhymes. Given the band's dark humor, it's not surprising that this album received musical contributions from cheeky Panamanian salsa god Ruben Blades on "La Perla Feat" or legendary Mexican rockers Café Tacuba on "No Hay Nadie Como Tú."
Anticipating Khriz y Angel's New Album

Angel y Khriz are a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo, consisting of Ángel Rivera Guzmán and Christian Colón.
In 2008 they released their album Showtime with the first single being "La Vecina" (The Neighbor) and their second single "Na De Na". Rockstar Games chose their song "Ven Baílalo" to appear in one of GTA IV's character trailers (Manny Escuela). The song features on the Grand Theft Auto IV radio station San Juan Sounds.
They are currently working on their fourth album named
"The After Party" which will be available in August 2009.

Fresh off the success of their latest album, Grammy-winning Puerto Rican reggaeton stars Wisin & Yandel are donating $25,000 to the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami.
The duo also announced Wednesday (July 14th,09) they will donate $1 to the organization for every ticket sold for their U.S. tour this fall.
Their show opens in Miami on Sept. 17.
Wisin and Yandel, the stage names of Llandel Veguilla Malave Salazar and Juan Luis Morera Luna, released their seventh album, La Revolucion in May. The lead single, Abusadora is No. 7 on the Billboard chart.
They also won Latin rhythm album of the year for a Duo Or Group for their last album, Los Extraterrestres at the 2009 Latin Billboard Music Awards.

Nicky Jam is officially back with this mixtape! Titled 'The Black Mixtape' which he has been anouncing for quite a while now. It's crazy hot with collabos from Yaga y Mackie, Aldo and Nejo along with production from Montana, MinDwella, Jamsha and more.
There's little doubt that Aventura are the the current 'Kings of Bachata,' even if they say so themselves. Their 2006 K.O.B. Live and 2007 "Kings of Bachata: Sold Out At Madison Square Garden" place the crown squarely on their collective heads with both the album names and spectacular performance on the music charts.

So, given that the Bronx band tends to 'let it all hang out' with their album names, why is their newest one titled The Last? That's the big question that's buzzing around in cyberspace and, not so coincidentally, on several of the album's tracks.
Well, here's what we know for sure. The new album marks the end of Aventura's recording contract with their current label, Premium Latin, and it may well be the last in that regard. The group's lead vocalist, Anthony 'Romeo' Santos has expressed an ambition to persue his career outside of the realm of bachata, hoping for crossover success in the English-language market (English is his first language).
Does all this mean that the Kings are abdicating the throne?
We highly doubt it and hope not; but only time will tell.
In the meantime, we can still enjoy this new album, a serious treat for fans of both Aventura and bachata.
Wisin And Yandel's 'La Revolución' Hits High Mark
Watch the Making of "Mujeres in the Club"
The debut of Wisin & Yandel's "La Revolución" at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart this week marks the top selling debut week on that chart since Luis Miguel's "Complices" sold 32,000 to also debut at No. 1 on May 24, 2008. A few months later, Luis Fonsi sold 30,000 to also debut at No. 1.
Aside from the units sold, Wisin & Yandel's showing on the Billboard 200, where "La Revolución" debuted at No. 7, is the highest for a Spanish language recording act since Mana's "Amar Es Combatir" debuted and peaked at No. 4 in September 2006 with an 87,000 opening sales week.
Maná and Wisin & Yandel are the only artists who record exclusively in Spanish who have made it to the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
The only No. 1 debuts on the chart by Latin acts have been Ricky Martin's eponymous English language album on May 29, 1999, and Jennifer Lopez's "J.lo" in 2001 and "J to Tha L-O!" in 2002.
At No. 2, Enrique Iglesias came in with "Escape" in November of 2001 and López with two albums- "This Is Me...Then" in 2003 and "Rebirth" in 2005.

What 50 Cent has to say about working with WY
Although 50 Cent has collaborated with countless musicians, few of those tracks made it onto another artist's album. With the reggaetón duo Wisin & Yandel and the track "Mujeres En El Club," 50 Cent not only made the album but took it upon himself to promote the song and feature it on his Web site. The move highlights the importance of the Latin market to one of hip-hop's biggest stars and opens the door for other high-profile collaborations between Latin and mainstream.
What was it like working with Wisin & Yandel?
When they sent the actual concept, I listened to it and the melodies completely fit me. It could be a song that I could do apart from them. So we're meeting on a ground that is completely comfortable for both of us. My duet with Justin Timberlake, for example-there is more compromise for me there. The content is similar to what you can see from 50 Cent, but the actual rap, style and cadence is different. But when I go into the song with Wisin & Yandel I didn't even have to make those cadence changes.
Had you deliberately gone after the Latin market before?
I've had huge success in Latin markets without intentionally reaching for that audience. And I'd like to maybe remix different things with different artists, and creatively, I'd like to do more stuff with Wisin & Yandel. I think hip-hop in general has changed dramatically based on artists reaching for other people. If you look at the artists out there, I think they're a reflection of what was rock'n'roll. In general, they're doing a style that isn't hip-hop. They're doing things that aren't traditional at all.
Is this what's happening with your music?
What I fell in love with and inspired me to get into hip-hop is dwindling away. I'd like to be a representation of that, because there isn't much of that left. I think people are so conscious of the numbers they're not being creative anymore. I've received nothing but positive feedback on this collaboration. And it's a surprise because it's playing in a space where you wouldn't traditionally hear 50 Cent. It's exciting and it's a whole new charge of energy for the person that is tuning in.
Is there anything about your Latin America performances that stand out?
While I was performing in Medellín [Colombia] this girl near the front was so excited and she was so beautiful, and I thought, 'Oh, my God, I want to have kids. With her. Now.' And when the concert was over she was gone.

While Don Omar and Daddy Yankee were crossing over into the pop international hits Reggaetón Latino and Gasolina, respectively, Yomo was still developing in reggaeton breeding ground. His first taste of success came in the form of the hot single 'Déjale Caer To' El Peso', which charted in the Top 40 of Latin Hot Tracks in 2006. His song featured on the 2005 compilation album Sangre Nueva, which was composed by reggaeton veteran Hector "El Father" and producer Naldo (producer) to promote new, up-and-coming talent. Yomo is preparing for his first album
"My Destiny" (formerly entitled as El Cuarto Bate). Yomo was also friends with reggaeton artist Tempo as he and Yomo sung in My Destiny. The album will be release on Novembre 29,2009. Yomo is now signed with Black Pearl International Records.
